About us
A small team that explains things.
Ginko IT is based in Collingwood, Melbourne. We look after the technology for businesses of roughly 10 to 250 people across Australia and New Zealand — some of them down the road, plenty of them a long way from it.
What we're actually like to deal with
There's a particular kind of IT company that thrives on you not understanding things. Everything's urgent, everything's complicated, and the invoice is a mystery. We find that exhausting and it's a rubbish way to run a business relationship.
So we explain things. If you've read one of our recommendations and you don't understand why we're suggesting it, that's our problem to fix, not yours. You should be able to take any document we write and hand it to another IT provider for a second opinion. Some clients have. It's fine.
We'll also tell you when you don't need something. Selling a business technology it won't use is a short-term win and a long-term problem, and this industry runs on referrals.
The team
You'll know who you're talking to.
We reviewed a lot of Australian IT company websites while putting this one together. Almost none of them name a single person. For a business choosing a local provider, that's an odd thing to leave out — "who actually picks up when I ring" is usually the question behind the question.

Accreditation
Microsoft Solutions Partner, three times over.
Designations aren't bought. Microsoft awards them against performance, certified skills and customer success, and they have to be re-earned — which makes them one of the few claims on this website you can go and check for yourself.
Microsoft Solutions Partner
Three designations, earned and re-earned against Microsoft's own performance and skilling measures.
Infrastructure (Azure)
Migrating and running workloads on Azure — servers, identity, networking and the move off ageing on-premise kit.
Modern Work
Microsoft 365 done properly: Teams, SharePoint, Intune-managed devices and the permissions work underneath it.
Security
Identity, endpoint and email security across the Microsoft stack — Entra, Defender, Purview and conditional access.
Beyond Microsoft we're vendor-agnostic where it matters and opinionated where it counts. The platforms we use most are Azure and Microsoft 365, AWS, Fortinet and WatchGuard for network security, and Lenovo for hardware.
On everything else: we'd rather list the accreditations a customer's security questionnaire actually asks about than paper the page with logos. If there's a specific one you need us to hold, ask — we'll tell you plainly whether we have it.
While we're being honest
This website doesn't track you.
No advertising pixels, no session recording, no third-party fonts loading from someone else's server. If we're going to talk to clients about privacy obligations and tracking technology, it would be a bit rich to run a marketing stack that quietly follows you around afterwards.
It also means there's no cookie banner to dismiss, which we suspect you'll enjoy more than any of the rest of this.
Why it matters commercially
In June 2026 the Privacy Commissioner found that using third-party tracking pixels on a health website, and retargeting those visitors on social media, amounted to collecting sensitive information without consent.
If you run a clinic, a practice, or anything that touches health data, your marketing team's pixel is now a privacy problem. We help sort that out.

We're in Collingwood and we'd rather meet you than pitch at you. Book a free IT review, or just ring and ask a question — you don't have to become a client to get a straight answer.
